Potential Sweet 16/Elite 8 trip
The NCAA D1 Women’s Volleyball Tournament Selection Show is Sunday night at 7:30 PM, and there’s a strong possibility that the Badgers will be hosting the first and second rounds next weekend, so we’re busy planning for the regional finals on December 12/13.
The Sweet 16/Elite 8 sites are Minneapolis, MN; Ames, IA; Louisville, KY; and Seattle, WA. We will know for certain which regional the Badgers will be in when the bracket is announced Sunday evening, but speculation is that should we advance that far, we will be playing the Sweet 16 and Elite 8 in Minneapolis. Minneapolis is a reasonable distance to travel by bus, so we’re looking to gauge interest in a trip should the Badgers go there.
If 32 people sign up, the cost for the bus alone will be about $65. All-session tickets are $23 + a convenience fee. This is an overnight trip, and you’d be responsible for your own lodging. Hotel rooms near the university are running in the $100-150 range. So all told, the trip would be in the $200 per head range, slightly less if people got creative with room sharing.
Departure for the trip would be the morning of Friday, December 12. Return would be after the Elite 8 match, in the wee hours of Sunday, December 14.

Unlike our regular season trips, we will not be collecting pre-registration deposits at the time of sign-up, as there simply isn’t enough time to have everyone go through the motions twice. If we receive sufficient interest, we will then contact you and arrange to collect payment.
